We recommend
always doing ones' own research and tend to provide a good deal of information on any given focal point of ours in the Issues pages...but visitors are welcome to just take our word for it and sign petitions and the like as "an act of faith" if they so choose.

Though a little "dated" now, there is still enough of value that we can continue to also recommend reading at least the "free sample" of "25th Amendment Revolution" by our own "O Euclidean", for Kindle and other devices, at http://www.amazon.com/25th-Amendment-Revolution-potential-history-ebook/dp/B019EN7OCK/ref=sr_1_1?s=digital-text&ie=UTF8&qid=1450293986&sr=1-1&keywords=O+Euclidean : at least gives an inkling of whether one should spend $5  $2.99 or not [our prejudiced perspective is it could be some of the best money one might ever spend…but then, we get some of it].

    O Euclidean finally acquiesced to our request that the price be reduced as much as possible: it is now only $2.99, the lowest the retailer would permit [of course, that reduces "our end" so we are even more inclined to want it in maximum number of hands :)  ].
   We cannot recommend this highly enough; it is so attuned to the current situation.  That also means that it may not be available much longer.

                                      January 14-24, 2017

14th:
What a cheap parting shot!

While we find it hard to believe even of Obama, on his way out he has made it a point to excel...in messing over folk.

"The right to petition your government is guaranteed by the First Amendment of the United States Constitution. Under President Obama, We the People was a platform where anybody could create a petition online and speak directly to the Administration."  Yep; he's going so the site goes?  Can the same logic be applied to ACA?  [And all that other junk he came up with by hook and crook?]

So, for at least until the inauguration of the next President, it seems the petitions will not be available...for signing.  But they are still available here for perusal through the "text" links.  Please do examine them and keep checking back for updates.

By the way: had the "Petition Process" one been popular enough to require a response, there is a very good chance that the site for such efforts would have become a permanent fixture some time ago, not nearly so readily subject to whims of...an individual(?).

PS   Yes, we will be contacting members of Congress over this petty garbage as soon as they get back from holiday; feel free to do likewise.

20th:
The whole thing is now gone.  Links to the site get an error and then forward to a Trump nothing that apparently is designed to create a mailing list.  We do not recommend filling out the form.  If a list is generated by having visited, Trump will have proved himself more like Obama than not...again.

We do ask readers here take a look at the text versions of what we'd been posting as petitions and consider contacting the White House, the Speaker, and the Senate Leader, along with their own representation, on those issues...maybe even about resurrecting that petition facility.
Meanwhile, we will be trying to figure a practical way in which we can again make the petitions available.

22nd:
Trump has, remarkably quickly, brought the site back...sort of; we had to create a new account because we were no longer recognized, and our history has apparently gone with slob Obama.
New petition windows now open.  We'd sure like it to be the last time we have to do this.

24th:
Just found that the URLs provided by WhiteHouse.gov were improperly linked.  We've found another approach that seems, at the moment of this writing, to be working...and we're hoping that's the worst glitch of the transition, but it gives us pause.

Marine Sgt. Andrew Tahmooressi, having been imprisoned for seven months in Mexico essentially for making a wrong turn at least in part due to complicity of governments of Mexico and/or the USA [
at night on a badly marked highway in a section undergoing construction] has been released.  Praise be.

Details have been sketchy at best.  At least for now, that is probably best.  Reportedly, the Mexican Judge ordered the release on humanitarian grounds, allegedly because the young man needs treatment for PTSD and Mexico has no means to provide it.  Why that couldn't have been done at least 6.5  months ago, is not too clear.  We have no idea of what has become of or will become of his vehicle, loaded with virtually everything he owned.  [What will come of his firearms in particular?]  Unfortunately, some bleeeeeeps in California, as we suggested was likely to happen [to Greta Von Susteren] at least as far back as June 2, are making noises about charges of violations of Californias' [unconstitutional] gun statutes.

The release was announced late in the
afternoon on the last Friday before the midterm election.  [We had figured it would come late in the afternoon on the last Friday before another political event a month earlier, the House Hearing on the question held October 1.]

A petition requiring The White House demand release of Sgt. Tahmooressi was put up on the WhiteHouse.gov site [presumably by his mother].  It met the theoretical threshold number for a response May 30, and a response  -- if you can call it that: t
he "response" seems to us to be hardly responsive, and certainly nebulous --  was issued by The White House [in a Friday dump going into a holiday weekend, no less; fondness for orchestration of news?], on August 29.

We learned something from that; it took essentially 3 times as long for The White House to issue the "response" as was permitted for gathering signatures to qualify for it.  When added to something else we knew about that petition feature  -- that the threshold had been raised a couple of times...and just might be again, at convenience of the Administration --  it seemed appropriate to look into an "adjustment" to that process.  We created a new petition.  We have not been able to muster sufficient energy for it to keep it as active as our "Hierarchy of Law" one, but we have offered it a couple of outings...and expect to make it available again shortly.

September 17, 2011, Constitution Day: we begin another effort at blogging.  Previous efforts have ended unceremoniously for a variety of reasons; for the most part we simply have not found it appropriate to pretend that we had something of significance to say publicly each and every day, too easily then neglecting for too long, distracted by daily life rather than making such an effort a part of daily life.

This process may well be subjected to similar problems but should result in a different end: for this blogging has a new intent added to the old, one of being an exercise in and a marking of self discipline [do not expect perfection; we don't, though we will strive for minimal evidence of our imperfections].  A daily entry is a part of our objective: it may be as brief and seemingly dismissive as " Nothing today", "We, too, sometimes need a break: this is one of ours.", or " Have noted news; gathering thoughts", but we are committed to at least checking in each day, and ask readers consider doing likewise.  [Entries may or may not be keyed to or even linked to other parts of the site, but we will endeavor to minimize choppiness.]

Too often, we may go on too long.  We may try to cover too many bases, resulting momentarily in a light treatment of heavy material, but we believe longer treatments will be available elsewhere on or at least through this site.

One of our objectives is to not waste a visitors' time.  We don't mind even offending folk, if it is all honest and above-board; but we would be disappointed if, having visited, somebody left feeling they'd wasted their time [much as we don't mind somebody leaving our table not being uncomfortably full, but would feel badly if they left hungry despite their efforts to become at least reasonably satisfied].

That will have to do for today: life interrupts.

Addendum, October 4, 2011

Any post more than a week old will be subject to being moved from this page and archived. For the immediate future, the Archive will be available on another page on the site.

Addendum, October 6, 2011

We will, from time to time, review and edit for typos et al, so that later readers may not be subjected to them.

Addendum, December 9, 2011

We have reorganized [again] so that the single most recent blog entry is readily available without having to mess with a slide bar much.  Recent entries will go to another page, eventually to archives, though those pages will be as we read, oldest first.  We hope this makes things easier for visitors.

The
(general) PLAN

Exercise integrity, and encourage others to do so: Support each other, and encourage others to do so;

Educate ourselves, and encourage others to do so; Use the term Usann, and encourage others to do so;

Resist tyranny, and encourage others to do so; Exercise authority over officials, and encourage others to do so;

And take the country back, one day, one moment, at a time.

Our goal is to follow the above plan in our lives and our business, thus being a part of returning our country, The United States of America, to the Republic it was envisioned and designed to be and The Great Experiment -- the Rule of Law -- brought to the world by the Founding Fathers.

We ask readers -- and others -- consider doing likewise.
